Page 1 of 3 In this tutorial I willl show you how to create a simple userbar. For this purpose I will create a uTorrent userbar.
For this tutorial, I assume you know/have the following:
-photoshop -basic knowledge of photoshop (working with layers, colors, etc.) -prepared picture that will be used (in my case the uTorrent logo)
Prerequisites: You will need VISITOR font. Download it here. Once you download it, unzip the content to your C:\WINDOWS\Fonts\ folder to install it.
Ok, let's start, the first thing's first, we'll begin by creating a pattern for our userbar, which will be the row of following straight lines.
1.) So let's go, go to File -> New In the next dialog window, enter the following values.

Name: Userbar (Optional) Width: 6 [pixels] Height: 6 [pixels] Resolution: 72 [pixels/inch] Color Mode: RGB Color [8 bit] Background Contents: Transparent
Advanced^:
Color Profile: sRGB IEC61966-2.1 Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square
2.) Now, select the pencil tool so we can begin drawing the pattern, but before that use the zoom tool and zoom about 1600%. Then using the pencil tool, draw a line exactly as shown on picture. When you're done, go to Edit -> Define Pattern, enter the name and click OK.

Now we have our pattern set, let's begin with actual userbar creation.
3.) Go to File -> New and enter the values as written below.

Name: Userbar (Optional) Width: 350 [pixels] Height: 19 [pixels] Resolution: 72 [pixels/inch] Color Mode: RGB Color [8 bit] Background Contents: Transparent
Advanced^:
Color Profile: sRGB IEC61966-2.1 Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square

Now we have the basic layout of what our userbar's size will be like. Let's continue..
